Technology and Learning

      Some technological tools I have used in my classes are projectors that are built into the ceiling, smart boards, Powerpoint slides, and clickers. Some technological tools I have used for studying are my Blackberry, my laptop, Spanish translator online, and e-mail. I use my laptop the most though, because it's connected to almost everything I do, such as e-mailing, searching information, typing papers, and logging into MyClasses. I think it is great that we have technology in classrooms because I believe it advances our learning. Also, I think that teachers kind of have to use technology now because it is such a common thing. I believe technology can make some things that are hard to understand more easy for people to understand.

A Video that Relates to My Major and Technology

Hey class! I found this Youtube video on Boloco Burrito short and straight to the point on how technology impacts me and my major. I am majoring in marketing and management and minoring in Spanish, but after this video and Professor Anderson’s lecture in class last Tuesday, I can see why information systems would also be a good minor. In this video it showed how information systems such as facebook, twitter, and email can help Boloco Burrito’s advertising just from one customer’s post.  I hope you all enjoy it!

Introduction of Myself

Hi INFO 211 class!

            My name is Julie Leupold and I am a junior here at Salisbury University. Currently, I am majoring in marketing and management and minoring in Spanish. I want to become fluent in Spanish because I love to travel. So far in my life, I have traveled to England, Germany, France, and Prague. Hopefully, I can study abroad and go to Argentina or Ecuador so I can add that to my list of places I've traveled to.
            I am an extremely hard worker and have been on the Dean's list every semester I've been in college. I am also a great multi-tasker and like to keep myself busy. This past summer, I worked three jobs and took two summer courses. I worked at two restaurants and on a charter fishing boat. Out of this class I would like to be more comfortable and creative using Microsoft Access and Excel so I can succeed in the business world and solve management problems, since I want to be a manager.
